Sage is a network of Christians in the Oxford region with a particular concern for the environment.
Since Sage was formed in 1990, it has been involved in a whole variety of activities. It produces a regular newsletter (Sage Words) on topics such as climate change, Christian environmental books and simple living. Sage organises walks, most recently "Walk with the Creator"
We are involved in practical conservation work, particularly at a local nature reserve, Boundary Brook Nature Park. Sage members also give presentations to interested groups and will lead and provide preachers for services (e.g. at Environment Sunday). Sage has a regular prayer meeting. In 2001, Sage began to develop a web site as a resource for the Oxford area. Some key features are:
- Web Calendar: Regularly updated with all the upcoming Christian environmental events in our area.
- News: Brings you right up to date with all that has been happening in the last year.
- Resources: Gives access to the set of seven Bible studies we wrote, and to back copies of Sage Words.
- Web space for other local Christian initiatives such as
- A Christian Response to the Environment
- The Ss Mary & John Churchyard Project
- The conference "Climate Change: How Christians Respond".
Sage is open to Christians of all denominations, all ages and all backgrounds. Why not join us?
